Free Password Generator
Generate random passwords and readable passphrases using browser cryptographic randomness. Choose character groups, exclude ambiguous symbols and copy locally.

Generate to see an approximate estimate.
Estimates assume random generation. Reuse and known leaks make passwords weaker. The passphrase list has 60 words.
Character-based estimates are approximate and cannot detect leaked passwords.
How to use the Password Generator
- Choose a password or passphrase and set its length.
- For passwords, select character groups and optionally exclude O, 0, I, l and 1.
- Generate or regenerate, review the approximate estimate and copy to a password manager. Reset clears the secret.
Practical example
Use a 20-character random password with all four character groups for an account that accepts symbols. A long passphrase may be easier to type manually.
What inputs and outputs are supported?
| Input and limits | 8–128 password characters or 6–16 words; optional ambiguous-character exclusion |
|---|---|
| Output | Random password or readable passphrase; local strength estimate |
Limits, assumptions and troubleshooting
Random selection uses crypto.getRandomValues with rejection sampling. Each enabled character group appears in a password. Passphrases use a disclosed 60-word list; their estimate is based on word choices rather than treating letters as independently random. At least six words are offered because the dictionary is small. Strength estimates assume random generation and are approximate; reused, leaked or human-chosen secrets can be much weaker.
Is my data private?
Input processing and output creation run on your device. This tool does not upload inputs, filenames or outputs, and analytics are disabled. The page loads normal website styles and fonts. Reset releases the current work; download a copy before leaving. This tool does not persist your input in browser storage.

Frequently asked questions
Are passwords stored or sent?
No. They stay in this page’s memory, with analytics disabled. Copy puts the secret on your system clipboard, which is managed by your device.
What if no character group is selected?
Generation stops with a clear error. Select at least one group and generate again.
